After lots of back and forth on specs and design ideas, I finally placed an order. The specs of the machine I am getting are as follows.
HP DL360 Gen8
E5-1660v2 3.7GHz 6-core processor
16GB PC3-12800 RAM
6 x 100GB SSD in RAID10
2 x 4 port bonded gigabit ethernet ports
There is absolutely no reason to have any performance issues with this new server. I have the fastest processor I could find, the (almost) fastest SSD's in a RAID configuration, fast RAM and a fast connection to my network.
Yes, this box is total overkill, but it will eliminate one potential reason for our slowdown.
Each file can be a maximum of 1MB in length Uploaded files will be purged from the server on a regular basis.
