Accessing USB devices in Comet

I am currently struggling with a Customer Display POS (Point of Sale) device by Partner. It is now only available as a USB device. Previously the serial port device allowed me to access it in Comet as a generic text printer. Since most of the POS workstations are Comet Anywhere users, the printer Alias allowed me to access the serial printer directly. Problem is the USB devices even with a driver that converts to a Comm Port has difficulties with the CR automatically added by the print statement. I can't figure out how to access the USB port directly in Comet or to pass the prescribed data using a VB program within Comet Anywhere. Any ideas?
