After hunting a problem with the USPS about missing Electronic Manifests for the last 2 months, it finally hit me that the *.manifest files had UPPERCASE names.
After running some tests, I found that DOS Create in Comet32 convert the file names to UPPERCASE.
Why? I ask...
Dealing more and more with the outside world and Linux systems I am surprised of such an awkward move.
Lost 2 whole months of parcels tracking... And I blamed it on Windows 7, new firewall, faulty FTP.. everything but Comet!
Why do I use DOS calls? Because USPS (stupid) requirements ask that all records be padded with blanks to their defined length (followed with CR/LF). Unfortunately, not all records are the same length. I wish the USPS would also get a grasp on reality!
Unless I can create a TEXT file and turn off the automatic CR/LF and add my own after the proper padding... Can't find a control to do that.
Tested on Comet16 2013.480 and Comet32 on Windows XP and Comet32 on Windows 7
Each file can be a maximum of 1MB in length Uploaded files will be purged from the server on a regular basis.
