I still use the old QTILITY most of time, but there are times when Comet Explorer comes in handy. Specially when dealing with files with record size of more than 1024.
Today I had to copy/renumber a few long records from one customer division to another.
Simple enough, open 2 Maintenance windows with source and destination... Copy & Paste...
Well NO... There is no COPY & PASTE in the New Utility ??

solution: Copy a key range from Source file to a temporary file in TMP, modify the Keys for the new destination file, delete the unwanted records (37 out of 52 today). Then do a copy/merge from the temporary file to the destination.
So it took half an hour to copy/modify 15 records from one file to another file. A process that would had taken 5~7 minutes with Copy & Paste....
Tested on Windoze 7 Pro running Comet32 2014.487 Rel 14.05 Utl 14.02
Each file can be a maximum of 1MB in length Uploaded files will be purged from the server on a regular basis.
