I can't assure you that any version of Comet prior to Comet 2003 will run with the latest Comet Server Products. We don't go back that far and test the unsupported versions of Comet. Furthermore, many of these older versions of Comet are running on very old versions of Windows. We can't guarantee that they will communicate with the latest server products either.
Since you're doing this project isn't it the perfect time to bring this customer up to date and make them a Comet 2004 subscriber? Unless all of the workstations are running Comet 2004, they cannot take advantage of the improved security and robustness of the new file system.
