I googled this problem. Found 2 possibilities:

1) Some anti-virus programs block execution from the temp folder. Could they have made a change to their anti-virus software since the last time they ran Comet?

2) Ownership of the temp folder may need to be explicitly set for that user.

Google "access denied to temp folder" for more info and suggestions.
