TRACE FILE worked just fine!

Kudos to one and all on the development team!

I created the file beforehand, but will check out the following:
1) having IB create the output file
2) using a constant for the file name and dir (I had variables for them)

another thing I never knew.... if the variable is a number,
TRACE PRINT number
will unpack it and display it (albeit like 00001234-... but that's OK)

unfortunately this is a tool... I still will have to slug thru 10K lines to find the bug.... oh well!!! :)
