The first thing to do would be to look at the Comet.log and the Cometsrv.log. Click on FAQs on the main forum page for a link to where you can find these logs.
Other things to consider:
How often does this happen? Is it at a certain time of day or when a certain program is run? When did this start happening? Have you installed any new software lately, either Comet or Windows? Have you changed any server hardware?
Each file can be a maximum of 1MB in length Uploaded files will be purged from the server on a regular basis.
