Comet startup

In Windows 7, created a shortcut:
TARGET: \\10.1.1.24\TRUCK\COMET2014\REL\COMET.EXE
start in: \\10.1.1.24\TRUCK\COMET2014
Asks if I want to run SYSGEN, I answer YES,
Splash screen loads and then says can not access directory:\\10.1.1.24\truck\comet2014\rel\

I generated shortcut using BROWSE feature, so I am certain verbiage is correct and system knows that directory exists. Do you have any other ideas?
