"Best/Suggested practices"

Could someone please produce a list of "Best Practices" or "suggested Practices" for installing/setting up Comet? It could be posted as either listing in the Documentation section, or in the WIKI. This would allow people who are upgrading to new comets to see what should be done (and maybe why).
