I don't know how VMs behave locally.

I usually run TEST4 with 1000 x 10 iterations. I tried your 10,000 x 5 and I got very large numbers ..like 19 seconds (from a separate workstation).

Locally on metal server (2x E5-2623 @3.00Ghz on Win 2012) I got 3.50 seconds on the SSD drives and 3.59 on the SATA drives.

My VM machine is not ready yet, so I can't compare. Earlier test I did were not that great. That's why I went metal.

How are your client going to connect? CometAnywhere ?
