Each user may have up to 100 LUNS open at a time (0 thru 99). The total for all users in the file server is limited by a configurable setting. The default is 1000. To see or modify the setting, bring up the file server UI. Choose View->Properties and look at the Advanced tab. Note, you must have admin privileges to modify the setting. If you change it, you must restart the services for it to take effect.

As long as you have enough memory you can have WAY more than 8 sessions! I think the limit is 1000 (0-999).
