I'll answer the one question I know the answer to right away. You can create an alias for %TEMP%. Do it from the Comet screen: File->Edit->Directory Aliases. Add a new alias that points to %TEMP%. Note you don't even have to specify the full path for the temp folder. Simply use %temp% as the path.
