Is there known differences between XAP and XAPFree?

I know XAP Free is limited to localhost.

I have a XAP script that works fine on Comet16' XAP. It uses the IP Gateway to talk to another non-Comet server. Works fine, been working since 2006.

I just moved the script to Comet32 FreeXAP and as soon as I start using IP Gateway(3), the XAP page stops displaying. I added a detailed trace to file and I can clearly see that it goes thru the full motion and gets all the work done - but no display in browser once I pass the +OK Connected message. I can see in my trace all the subsequent IP dialog between my program and the server (not the XAP).

I also noticed that the connect messages are different:

XAP : +OK Connect xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx on port xx
Free: +OK Connected to xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx on port xx

Is the IP Gateway interfering with the FreeXAP Gateway ?
