You can define a new expression in CFILES using the DataExpress front-end. Right-click on the file name in the dictionary tree structure. The popup menu will give you the "Define a calculation..." option. Here's a link to some doc. Have you watched the tutorial videos? There's an example there about how to define a calculation also.
