Your QDIR.DIR didn't have deleted files marked correctly. They are indicated by @FE@ in the 7th byte of the QDIR record. All your QDIR entries were hex zeroes. CometEx tried to process these records as valid QDIR entries which they were not. Can't tell you how the QDIR got trashed.
