If the field you're changing is the primary key, then follow Grant's suggestion. If you're working with an extended keyed file, and your key is one of the secondary keys, you don't have to do anything special. You can just do read/change/write, or extract/change/write, and your secondary key tables will automatically update with the new data. But if it's a regular keyed file and you want to change the key, do what Grant says.
Each file can be a maximum of 1MB in length Uploaded files will be purged from the server on a regular basis.
