The reason the files could be overwritten is all the other users on the system were using comet.exe. Thus no file locks as it writes itself to the local hard drive. The only people who got errors were those who came out then wanted to go back in. I don't think I fat fingered the install, of course it's possible. However it definitively did not restore any overwritten files, it erased them.
