Had similar issue the first time I installed Comet on a VM using Proxmox VE (Free).
The issues seemed to come from the virtual IO (virtio) drivers. My network consultant recommended I use the e1000 drivers.
It got better but not satisfactory enough. I still run my Comet server on metal. I have one Comet File Server on a VM for a specific department.
TEST4 with 1000 x 10 takes:
on a PowerEdge 630 with mirror SSD Drives: 3.69 seconds
on the same PowerEdge 630 with RAID-5 SATA: 3.86 seconds
On a PowerEdge 730 running Proxmox with RAID-5 SAS: 6.70 seconds
Local system (TMP): 1.05 seconds
Whole network is 1.0 Gigabits
Each file can be a maximum of 1MB in length Uploaded files will be purged from the server on a regular basis.
