G'day Jim,
OK, so it has nothing to do with files apart from caupd.exe.
Not sure why it is copying it as it has the same date at both ends. It would appear to be copying this correctly. If I completeley empty the cafile/install directory, after the transfer it has the caupd.exe & all the expanded files, so it looks to be going to the right place.
I sometimes get a runtime error 70 ,permission denied error but it appears to have done its expanding and copying at that stage, just looks like it happens when it tries to restart comet.( I am running cosw.exe not comet.exe & it seems to want to start comet.exe which gives that same error on my win2000 system.).
Is the "UPDATES" alias still relevant ? It doesn't appear to be.
Don't think I can divine anything else Jim, the problem looks to be in the verify to me.
