I remember once paying $9600 for 1MB of RAM for a Qantel system. That was $4600 for the memory board, and $2500 for each of the 512k memory modules. That expanded our memory from 1MB to a whopping 2MB for the entire company. Take out the board, pay $5000 for 1 MB of RAM, and if those prices held true today, 16GB of RAM today would cost 80 million dollars.
