You'd have to go back several years. The orphan logout was put in the Security Server at version 16.0 and in the File Server at version 15.3. This provides a very important function. If a Comet client disconnects improperly their license can get "stuck" in the Security Server requiring a server restart to clear. It also can leave the File Server thinking they still have files open and records locked. Again this would require a server restart to clear. The automatic Orphan Logout solves this problem.
You will also lose the benefit of the other improvements made to the server products since version 15. You can see a list at the link below.
Your problem may not be a time sync one unless you know for sure the server is doing time sync. Basically anything that interferes with the client/server ping communication could cause this.
Each file can be a maximum of 1MB in length Uploaded files will be purged from the server on a regular basis.
