windows printing

is there a way to mimic the format masking so that i can do something like this

this$=mask(1000000.00,"*#,###,###.##-")
instead of this
2871 FORMAT (CR);(CR);@(185);"$";TPMT,"*,###,##0.00-"

i want to do windows printing but this is the only way i know how to mask it
