Hi Tom. The delay you're experiencing is certainly due to a network controller issue. I know of other users who have used the "background task" approach with success. If this is a type 'C' CFAM-based system then the FSTAT technique should work. If it is a type 'S' system then you may want to open and then close a keyed file on the server just to make sure the function is exported accross the network to CFileSrv.
