Just installed XP SP2 on the workstation that hosts my office CAW demo. When I started Comet 2004, Windows Firewall "challenged" COSC. I selected the "Unblock" option. The Comet startup completed and CAW appears to work. I'll test from the outside world later today.
I looked in Control Panel/Windows Firewall and selected Exceptions. There is a entry there for COSC.
I use MS Small Business Server 2003. Every workstation has a firewall client that assists and monitors connection to the MS ISA firewall on the server. My configuration is probably atypical from what I see described here.
So far nothing, especially Comet, has broken. The install from the free, by mail CD, was under 1/2 hour on a 2Ghz PC.
