• Want support for long filenames - Requires eliminating qdirs. For sequential and contiguous files we could create a secondary file with same name and an extension that would hold the necessary file attributes. 3-character Comet dir name would have to be stored in a file also. Also need to supply utility for old keyed files that would copy file attributes into TKS.

• Want Comet Explorer Maintenance Utility to support text files rather than launch text editor.

• Comet Anywhere printing performance is horrendously slow. Steve Hagen gave example of text-based doc with 2 fonts.

• To facilitate exporting data to other apps, want a file control to send to a text file that would cause data written to it to have fields delimited by programmer-specified character (ie just like comma-delimited file, but delimiter could be any character). String fields would be stripped. Numeric fields would use leading minus. Import as well.

• Want preprocessor for Reporter that recognizes fields for which the user would be prompted to supply a value. Example for date used in SELECTING. Reporter would make temp version of spec file and substitute the user-suplied value for each occurrence of the variable. Proposed syntax: #variable-name.

• Want to be able to specify date fields in DbManager but not necessarily add them to IB language. Contact Steve Auerbach for details of this request. Want dbmgr to be smarter about strings and string lengths (see gina).

• Revamp NOVA and SNOVA. Want more modern Windows look for help messages and lookup programs.

• Give user XAP license for free if server name is "LocalHost" so they can do local development and testing of XAP apps.

• Lots of confusion surrounding UltraEdit configuration, interface, and integration with Comet.

• Comet University: want to revive training classes.

• Nobody seemed at all interested in the proposed Comet security enhancements.

• Bug: DbMgr not showing key position for extended keyed files.

• Bug: Clearfile done on a keyed file open by multiple users corrupts .I00 file.

• Bug: Server Installation program needs to be run twice or else services are not installed properly. This only happens if services are not shut down before installation program is run.
