Heavy useage (many workstations do lots of file accesses) when using CFAM can cause resources on the server (CfamNetServe) to run out. This problem is most likely to happen if a network or file server suffers an extreme slowdown long enough in duration to cause a workstation to wait (I'm not really sure how long). When this happens, all other workstations will fall behind creating a "snowball effect" in the server program. Often the server program, CFamNetServe would stop, causing all workstations to lose their connection until the server was rebooted.
