This is a limitation in Excel, why MS decided that "" wrapped text that looks like a number is a number is beyond me. We all have customer numbers 000145 that when imported via .csv show as 145.

The only work around is to create a text import. We have some pretty standard macros around that take care of the import. If you tell Excel to Learn a macro and do a file open on a text file and define the columns, the macro will import the column correctly. In fact in many cases we have a spread sheet that has an auto_run macro that does nothing more than import the data. You can have the reporter do a luanch of the spread sheet that contains the auto_run macro and it will just import it as if you launched the .csv.

If you want some examples I can post them.
