File create problem

We have users running Windows Server 2000, Windows server 2003, Cometsrv 0409, C2K339, UTL0407, REL 0406, running 'S type directories. Each time a file is created, in a program or with utilities option 5, a bad record is written to the I00 file. We put them on C2004 and the problem presisted. This has been occuring for the last few weeks. If we switch them to 'N' type directories the problem goes away.
