I'll answer my own question. Again this is slightly off topic but it affects comet since the user will only see that Comet doesn't work. There is an autodisconnect feature ?!! in Windows Servers that is defaulted to 15 minutes. In Win2K and XP before SP2 the drive would show up in Windows explorer with a red x through it. However if you were to access it it would automaticly reconnect. Not so with SP2. A net config server /autodisconnect:-1 will set the registry value to the highest supported value which in W2K server is 65,535 minutes (45 days).
The registry entry is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanServer\Paramaters Autodisconnect subkey hex val 0xffff for the max.
Hope that helps someone it sure was bugging me.
