Understanding printing

The key word is understanding.
All I want to do is to print on a pre-printed form that I am modifying for a client. I want my laser printer to print in 10 CPI 6 LPI
Not Pitch CPI.
I am totally confused about PFONTC, Print Setup, Printer Font, Default Printer, the menu in my laser printer... I can tell you that there are no printer commands in this old program. None.
HELP ME PLEASE.
Which does what? Where does Comet look?
