I experimented with the cwcolor dialog and you BOTH are right. It seems that Hue and Saturation control 2 dimensions of the color and luminosity controls the third. Just play with the sliders and see what I mean.
But, it all boils down to values for red, green and blue. Luminosity changes all three values proportionately. So all you need to specify ANY color is RGB.
