This error indicates that the WinSock gateway timed out waiting to receive a packet. The sendmail program waits for a response after sending a control to the gateway. Apparently sometimes the response isn't coming in fast enough. You can increase the timeout value by using the CONTROL statement. Refer to the IB doc for syntax. The value supplied is in seconds.
