Perhaps it would be a good time to refloat the discussion on "the enhanced user security" document that you put out back then and we can then discuss it at Las Vegas.
The spec seems quite good to me although it is a little hard to visualize some aspects of it without a nice heated debate and an ice cold beer.
We use Comet Anywhere extensively now between ten or so branches, as any terminal from any branch can access any other branch I laeve the back door open all the time.( I know, I know).It would be nice if there was some form of password/identification thar was checked prior to allowing me to log on for the first time. I would also like to know who logged on when to where. I also use Comet Anywhere to borrow bits of code from one site to use on another site, I have a customer who knows me quite well, who watched how I did that and then used the same procedure to check out their pricing files after I had left. I tend to use the same few passwords at all my customers, over time a customer gets to know these. Also can a session automatically dropout after a certain time, or at least can we see who is in the partition to decide if we can kill them or not.
Wow, imagine how much more stuff we can carry around in common.(sorry).
I like the monitor being able to run specific programs for specific passwords, would this include opening up multiple screens ?
Presumably this would limit the DAB's available. However we don't want it to be too complicated for a supervisor to ba able to do additional stuff on a machine , ie accessing a wider selection of DAB's.
As you can see I have not thought this through at all but I am salivating at the prospect of an ice cold beer and much discussion.
