Jim:

Received both pdf emails just fine. So, I started to look at the properties of the emails. Found a possible solution.

------------------------------------------------------------------
But first, a piddilly observation. This line is in every EmailPtr even when it originates from my system ...

xSSIMessage-Id: <060805-00010100-signature.systems>

Should it be unique to the sending system?
------------------------------------------------------------------

Back to "the problem".

There's a difference in the email from the FILETIME= through the end. There is extra information that's not being generated by EmailPtr. Like "name=" and "filename=".

I'm using Exchange 2003 and Outlook 2003. Exchange has it's attachment blocking filter on. It will strip off EXE, BAT, SCR, etc attachments and send them to a quarantine folder. PDF's are not blocked. But, maybe without the "name=" and/or "filename=" the PDF context gets lost and I end up with a DAT.

1. My internal message and the one you sent directly look like ...

FILETIME=[A4AB2A90:01C56C58]

--ssi=-=-=-=-=-=boundry=-=-=-=-=-=-ssi
Content-type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

--ssi=-=-=-=-=-=boundry=-=-=-=-=-=-ssi
Content-type: application/pdf; charset=us-ascii
Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64

--ssi=-=-=-=-=-=boundry=-=-=-=-=-=-ssi--
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
The email you forwarded looks like ...

FILETIME=[84E06480:01C56D40]

------=_NextPart_000_0001_01C56CEC.B1BCCFB0
Content-Type: text/plain;
charset="us-ascii"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit

------=_NextPart_000_0001_01C56CEC.B1BCCFB0
Content-Type: application/pdf;
name="ATT00014.pdf"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable
Content-Disposition: attachment;
filename="ATT00014.pdf"
