I have Comet running on xphome sp2 at one of my sites. It was a mistake, I had a terrible trouble getting it working and eventually gave up and upgraded them all to xp pro, but I noticed the other day that there were two machines that I had missed. The problem was not with comet so much as with windows networking which behaved at best irregularly. The server was running w2k3.
I wouldn't recommend using XP Home.
