PDF Printing/Doc Manager

I'm getting acquainted with PDF printing and Document Manager to be ready for all the C2K5 upgrades going in. I've run across a couple of
things that I've encountered with (SpoolMessage= mnemonic:
1) I assumed that the use of this mnemonic would be in the form
Print (LP) (SpoolMessage="... ") issued after the printer is opened.
When doing this I do get the properly named document in Doc Manager.
However, all documents generated in this manner have a blank page 1.
In other words, a document that is normally one page will appear as a
PDF document of 2 pages, first one blank and the report on page 2.
2) I had been including the program designation on all my hard copy
reports in angle brackets. My salesman listing shows in the header. When the angle brackets are used to name the document with
the (SpoolMessage=" Salesman Listing") Doc Manager returns a Launch Error 2 when the report is launched.
