I wouldn't worry about this. (Easy for me to say, eh?) I think you may have found a small bug in the Reporter's logic. It must erase the object file when it's done if it thinks that there is more than one report in the same spec file. It does this so it can reuse the object file name. If the object was not erased, it would think the object was up to date and just rerun it. You'd end up running the same report over and over. So, the object file is erased to force regeneration of a new object.
Could be that it's not smart enough to look ahead and see that the next report you're running is in a different spec file. I believe the only down side to this is that you will always regenerate your object even if the report spec has not changed.
