I just found a case where a different windows call failed because the wrong buffer was selected internally. This was caused by the previous i/o statement using the large buffer. It was an open of an extended keyed file.
Greg, you can test if this is the cause of your problem by opening a legacy keyed file just before the LoadPictureControl is called.
This will be fixed in build 360.
