What you DID hear was that the new extended file type is not very compatible with image files. Extended keys are located in the record and so, image files would be too confusing.

While we discourage the use of image files, we will still support them.

QIC emulation is another matter. We know some of you have lost your source code. We will continue the support of QIC objects into the near future (at least up through Comet 2007 and probably beyond).

But really, if you think about it, every end user should have the source code for all of the programs they run. I know this a bit idealistic, but just for the sake of fiscal responsibility, someone should be able to look at the source code to see what the programs are doing. I know there is a QIC decompiler out there. You guys should use it.

The features we ARE depreciating are:

1. Win 98
2. Type N dirs
3. Type S dirs on windows servers
