Brian:

Started writing this Monday and I'm just getting the last test results back.

All the reported print issues seem to be resolved.

1. The extra blank page went away Friday. They haven't tried one of these programs as yet today (Monday). So I'll mark it down as solved.

2. Comet windows programs that weren't printing to LP2 correctly but would to LP9 are again printing correctly to LP2.

3. The font selection for printers and faxes is correct.

However, something new has popped up. Again, a weirdie.

Tested the above using their quote and invoice reprint programs and found the problem. But I settled on a DIRCAT of REL for consistency.

On faxes from the server based fax modem to the company's standalone fax, the cover page prints correctly but the report truncates 3 characters at 17cpi on the left (you see "ET" instead of "COMET" at the top of the DIRCAT) and the receiving fax machine thinks the report should be printed on legal size paper. The fax preview displays correctly. Normal incoming faxes are OK.

Tests:

(359, Win98) When I fax from their server fax (modem) to my fax modem or my OfficeJet (printer, copier, fax) the faxes are OK.

(359, Win98) I faxed to another Comet customer who has an older standalone fax. OK.

(358, Win98) I faxed back from the other customer. Fax is truncated, legal.

(358, Win2K) I faxed from a second Comet company. Fax is OK.

Apparently, faxes sent from Comet (358 and 359) via a Win98 workstation to some fax machines have this problem. My customer's fax machine is rich in features that most fax modems and regular faxes don't have. Specifically to this problem, multidrawer capability with letter in drawer 1 and legal in drawer 2.

Sounds a bit like Justin's problem.
