Wanted to be sure I could work on my test node during the day and not inadvertently cause file corruption.

On my remote connection (PCAnywhere) I can't see the entire remote screen. I didn't see that the CometServe icon was appearing in the System Tray. Additionally, hidden behind the Comet splash was a "Comet Database Server Error" dialog. The dialog would not come the the front. I had to click "Details", close the COSC screen, move the "Comet Startup", "Comet Startup Warning", and "Comet Shutdown" messages to the far corners to expose the dialog. It said "Completed Sucessfully OK". Clicked OK and another dialog appeared. This one about "error working with program settings", permissions, and registry.

Comet Workstation was installed under the domain administrator password. But Comet runs with regular user permissions. This company keeps things tight securitywise and regular users cannot install software.

I remember encountering this message elsewhere. The blunt force fix was to make users part of the Local Administrators group. I don't think I'll be able to do that with this company.

This PC is a Win2K but all the rest of the workstations are XP.
