To see the ClickDown and ClickUp, you need to use the ScanCodes, see Partial Scan Codes and Full Scan Codes.

Partial Scan Codes (Partial Scan Codes On) used with (Mouse ON) will allow you to receive both the click down and click up.

What you get (see "Reading the mouse" in IB doc) if the hex coordinates of the mouse (2 bytes) a one byte button clicked and a one byte button status (which usually is same as previous) followed by the ascii string '00FE'or '00FF' for mouse click-down and mouse-click-up.

So clicking-down at @(10,5) with the left button would yield: $060A010130304645
clicking-up without moving would return $060A000030304646

Oddly, my personal test shows that moving the mouse while click down, creates a highlighted box that does NOT yields a click-up.

This method is therefore reliable to click the click down, not the click up.
