Timer handling was never finalized in Comet and should NOT be used. I'll take a look to see if there's a way to give the window enough height to show the control line. The problem is how to determine when it should be displayed and when not without sacrificing backwards compatibility. This is an API issue and may require changes to several programs to pass the mode to COSW.
