I have absolutely nothing concrete to go by yet. I just had another end-user call in with the same symptoms, this time I examined the PC
with him. It is an XP machine with Automatic Updates set for "Download only, let me choose when to install". He still had the
installation icon in his system tray, so they had not been installed.
I'm OK with having to establish new passwords for users when they get a new machine, a new disk drive or a new O/S. But randomly occurring changes of the CAID are a real nightmare for me. I guess not many people are using IDMAINT as I expected to see quite a bit more commotion on this than I'm seeing. I know Signature is simply
making use of an ID # that is supposed to remain constant unless there's a reinstall. But if it's not going to remain constant after
all I guess I should look into a software solution where I keep a file to register remote users. Tom.
