COSC crash with directory alias

I finally have a need for the directory alias and start testing for using it.

I found in the documentation how to configure and use Alias with the (CopyFile ) mnemonic.

My test is trying to simply copy a little text file from my local C: drive to another location using the Alias. My test is NOT done using CometAnywhere. The documentation suggest (and I hope it is true) that the (CopyFile ) will work both for local & remote user.

Documentation for (CopyFile ) says that I can set flag to include 256 if I want the alias created.

So I tried this: made flag = 128+256+512+1024 aka CreateAlias + DontCopy/CheckForUpdate + DestinationAnywhere + ShowProgressBar

Note that I did not include the 2-CometAnywhereRequired since I want this to work for both local & remote.

When I run this, I get a COSC MFC Application error. The little information that Windows gracefully provides tells me that it happened at offset 0000c5ac.

Help please. I need this code to be able to safely deliver "Excel Export files" from my Comet application.

It would be so more easier if Alias could be Created/monitored and changed from within our programs. Using *wild* card like %userdata%\CometData
