Those directories must be really messed up! I went back to a comet 2005 build 359 and configured the directory you sent me as a local dir. When I do a diccat (utility 11) on it it only lists 329 files!
Comet Explorer shows over a thousand files.
The directory is clearly messed up!
What does everyone think? Should the comet File System attempt to clean up all of the files it encounters including qdir (only qdir)?
Or, should the developer run dirbuild to fix these problems?
I kind of like the automatic approach, but it may lead to too may problems of its own. We all have been living with qdir files that have been carried through the years with problems that may not be apparent at first glance, but are serious in their own way.
This is a general problem.
Ideas anyone?
