E8E is a timeout error associated with type "N" keyed files if Comet is unable to gain exclusive access to them. If this sounds like the senario, are there any other applications running on the network that could be interferring with the Comet keyed files? Something else that could aggravate this is a mix of really fast machines on a network with slower ones. This should not be a problem with CometServe and type "S" files.
