Well, this is interesting! All 50 characters of the spool message really are stored in the job file. QSPOOL goes out of its way to truncate it to 30 chars for the display. I'm not sure why. Looks like there's plenty of room on the screen for the remaining 20 chars. Perhaps it was for users who had only an 80 char screen - way back when. How about if I change it to display all 50 chars and then you let me know if that causes any other problems? :-)
I too see the blank line in the output. There is indeed a (lf) character in the job file. This must be coming from Comet, not QSPOOL. It will take some more investigation to figure out why.
