Does anyone know much about the US banking system ? Can foreigners (me) hold a bank account without a resident address. I have some shares on the US market and would like to flog a few of them to give me cash when I am in the states. Is there one bank that works all over the states that would be an obvious choice ? I found it hard gettin petrol last time because they wanted your postcode (or something) that of course my bit of plastic didn't have. Probably wont bother for this trip but it could be a handy time to sort things out.
